About the work:

In the village of Plaka on the island of Naxos, a narrow street runs beneath a house through a vaulted passageway, alongside the stone steps characteristic of the Cyclades that lead up to the houses. The drawing explores contrasts: the whiteness of the walls, the shadows in the nooks and crannies, and the apparent chaos of the forms found in the islands’ traditional architecture, all sculpted by the unique light of this place.
