About the work:

The path is made of large, worn, uneven stone slabs. It winds its way forward, then disappears behind a house. In the background, the Castro stands out against the skyline, whilst Chora’s white houses dot the hillside. The pencil drawing captures both the stony texture of the foreground and the airy quality of the distance in a single stroke.
