The silhouette of Kraków’s Wawel Cathedral stands out against the sky, blending Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance styles. The golden dome of Sigismund’s Chapel catches the eye with its precious radiance. The towers—one Baroque, the other Gothic—and the stone walls strike a unique balance. The drawing captures this accumulation of eras, where light plays between the gold of the dome, the grey of the stones and the verdigris of the copper roofs.
